St. Peter the Apostle – A Brief History
From its humble beginnings high on a hill in rural Boerne, Texas to today, St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church is a welcoming place for all.
In 1866 a young deacon was saddled with the task of building a Catholic Church in Boerne. This first church served its parishioners well for over 50 years. Due to growth of the town and congregation, a new larger structure was built in 1923. The “1923 Church” was used for more than 60 years and was eventually outgrown. After much turmoil and compromise a new sanctuary was dedicated in 1999.
St. Peter’s serves both the English and Spanish communities with Mass and ministries. Weekend Mass times are Saturday evenings at 5:30 PM, Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Spanish Mass is at 12:30 PM and Sunday Masses conclude with the Life Teen Mass at 6:00 PM.
