New Horizons is a program at St Peters with a sole purpose to welcome Catholics who want to return to their church. New Horizons follows the mission set forth by Pope Francis and Archbishop Gustavo of San Antonio for the church to be more welcoming and friendly. St Peters follows that mission actively by extending our boundaries to those who want to return to their faith. We want all who return to experience the Spirit filled community that St Peters is establishing, and to know that they are welcome. New Horizons will be meeting September 22, 29, October 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 7:00 PM in room 163 of the Family Life Center.
“There’s an old saying that goes, “Once a Catholic, always a Catholic.” Maybe you have been away from the Church for a little while or for quite some time, but now you feel a tug at your heart calling you back to the Catholic Church. Listen to that tug. It’s your Heavenly Father reaching his arms out to you, the Holy Spirit whispering in your ear, hoping to draw you home." - Pope Francis
We hope you accept this invitation to rediscover the truth, wonder and mystery of the Catholic faith. As your brothers and sisters in our worldwide Catholic family, we want you back. We’ve missed you, and our Church is not the same without you.
"Regardless of why you left or got out of the habit of going to Mass, you can always come home and return to the practice of the sacraments and the fullness of relationship with Jesus Christ and the Church he founded. We are Catholic. Welcome home.” (Excerpted from the Catholics Come Home)
You may be a Catholic fully engaged in your faith and have a loved one who has left the practice of their faith. In your concern, you may be looking for resources to help them come back.
