Role of the Worship Commission:  To come together as a community for spiritual nourishment through active participation in the Eucharist, the Word, prayer and fellowship to prepare us to serve God and others.

Worship Ministries:

Liturgy Committee:  We are committed to planning and developing meaningful liturgical services for all who attend St. Peter's. We also enhance the environment for the different seasons of the year.

Eucharistic Ministers:  Assists the Celebrant of the Mass in distribution of the Eucharist.

Lectors:  Assists the Celebrant at Mass by proclaiming the Word in the first two scripture readings. Lectors are asked to attend the Parish Lector Prep hour on Monday evenings at 6:30 pm before their scheduled Sunday Mass.

Altar Servers:  Altar Servers assist the Celebrant at weekend Masses, funerals and special celebrations.

Music Ministry:  The Music Ministry of St. Peter’s is a dynamic and growing ministry.  Parishioners of all ages who enjoy singing and/or playing an instrument share the gift of song at Sunday Eucharist.  Vocalists and musicians of varying talents generously offer their time as a gift that enhances the Liturgy for the worshipping assembly.  The presence of liturgical music joyfully encourages the active participation of the entire assembly uniting those gathered as one voice in praise of God.

Ushers & Greeters:  This ministry has the responsibility to welcome parishioners and guests as they enter for Liturgy, to facilitate orderly seating at the beginning of Mass and movement during the Mass, and to manage the weekly collections.

Liturgy of Word for Children:  Provides the Sunday reading of Scriptures at Mass for Kindergarten through 5th  grade children.

Altar Care:  The Altar Care Society commits to serve the entire parish by preparing the Table for the Celebration of the Eucharist and by caring for the altar linens.  Through this service our members strive to enhance the worship experience of the entire parish family.

Shepherds of Christ:  The purpose of this ministry is to promote consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary and the rosary.  We pray for all priests and for the renewal of the church and the world.  Additional purposes are to build unity and to help develop deeper spiritual lives in its members.  We pray united with other prayer chapters, around the world, by setting prayer times to coincide with the central times of the entire worldwide movement.

Guadalupana Society:  A ministry that is devoted to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patron Saint of the Americas.  This ministry is inclusive of all nationalities and cultures.

Centering Prayer:  This Contemplative Outreach Support Group meets weekly to encourage the practice of Centering Prayer. The group meets each Monday from 7 - 8 PM in the bride's room to study the method of Centering Prayer as presented by Fr. Thomas Keating and others, to practice Centering Prayer in a group setting, and to share our experiences and questions regarding Centering Prayer in an environment which supports and honors each member’s personal spiritual journey. No previous experience with Centering Prayer is necessary; all that is needed is a desire to deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ through this ancient Christian/Monastic prayer practice.

Adoration Ministry:  This ministry is dedicated to the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.  Eucharistic adoration is the recognition of and honoring the special presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
