Fr.
Tony Cummins, a native of Ireland, grew up in Dalkey, Co. Dublin.
He studied for the priesthood at Mungret College, Limerick and St.
Patrick’s Seminary Carlow. He was ordained on June 12, 1965,
his birthday, and in September of that same year came to the San
Antonio Archdiocese to begin his ministry. He served in the San
Antonio area for 9 years as an associate pastor and in 1974 was
appointed pastor of St. Mary’s in Fredericksburg. In 1977
he was appointed the founding pastor of St. John Neumann in San
Antonio. In July, 1990 he began and continues his pastoral ministry
here at St. Peter the Apostle. Over the years Fr. Tony has served
on community boards and Archdiocesan committees. He has built both
people and buildings during his ministry. He enjoys his work and
also quiet time away at the Sarita Contemplation Prayer Center and
an occasional day on the greens.

Mary Ann Hawn serves as the Pastoral Associate for St. Peter the Apostle. She has worked for the parish since 1993. Mary Ann holds a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Ministry from Oblate School of Theology and has achieved Level IV Catechist Certification. In her role as the Pastoral Associate, Mary Ann assists Fr. Tony in meeting the pastoral needs of the St. Peter community by such things as ministry facilitation, liturgical preparation and assisting families seeking Marriage and Funeral planning. Mary Ann serves as the main facilitator of the Alpha Ministry, RENEW, the Samaritan Ministry and also serves on the RCIA Team. She is also a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister. (830) 816-5655

Joe Cortez III serves as the Director of Music for St. Peter the Apostle. Joe has a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, has graduate-level hours in music, and holds a Texas Teaching Certificate for all grade levels. He is currently working on his Masters of Arts in Pastoral Ministry at Oblate School of Theology. He has many years of experience as an accompanist, band, orchestra, and choir director. Joe has worked for both the Bandera and San Antonio School systems, and in his spare time, continues to share his gift with children wishing to learn music. At St. Peter the Apostle, Joe is responsible for recruiting, supervising and coordinating all musical activities in the parish, the planning of liturgical music, and serves as the Director of the Life Teen Band. Sara Archer serves as Receptionist for St. Peter
the Apostle. Joining the staff 2006, she is responsible for operations

Halbert serves as Business Manager for St. Peter the Apostle. Joining
the staff in September, 2006, she is responsible for all business
financial duties including parish accounting and human resources.
Jenny holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from L.S.U and her
C.P.A. Certificate.. She has over 15 years of general financial
accounting experience and has been a member of the parish since
2005. In addition to her duties in the parish office, Jenny is active
with her rthree children and husband.

Elizabeth
Anne Dashiell has been a member of the parish staff since 1990.
She is currently the Director of the RCIA and coordinates the Adult
Faith Formation program. Elizabeth Anne holds a Bachelor of Arts
and a Bachelor of Science from Our Lady of the Lake University,
a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Oblate School of Theology,
and has achieved Level IV Catechist Certification. In addition to
her responsibilities as a staff member, Elizabeth Anne ministers
to a nursing home resident and plays the piano at the Sacred Heart
parish in Comfort.

Nancy Boerner has been working
for the pastoral office since 1991. She serves currently as the Director
of the Family RCIA process. Nancy works directly with the Catechumens
and Candidates to prepare them for the Sacraments of Initiation, and
also facilitates, trains and schedules the Break Open the Word Catechists
and the Inquiry Catechists. She is also responsible for the recruitment
and coordination of the Sponsor/Companion Ministry. Nancy serves on
the parish Liturgy Committee, the parish Memorial & Remembrance
Book Committee, as a Lector and as a Eucharistic Minister. Nancy holds

Jeanette Belter joined the parish staff in 1990. She currently serves as a Youth Minister for our High School Faith Formation program, coordinates the Life Teen program, serves as the coordinator of the confirmation preparation process, and organizes many events for the parish youth. Jeanette holds a Bachelor of Science degree, a Texas Teaching Certificate, and has achieved Level III Catechist Certification. In addition to her many years serving as a Youth Minister, Jeanette has also served in both the public and Catholic school systems. Jeanette also serves as a Eucharistic Minister.

Sharon
Mecke joined the parish staff in 1997. She serves as a Youth Minister
for our High School Faith Formation program,
coordinates the Life Teen program, and organizes many events for
the parish teens. Sharon holds an Advanced Training Certificate
in Youth Ministry from the Franciscan University in Steubenville.
In addition to her role as Youth Minister, Sharon is a Lector and
also serves as a member of the Life Teen Band .

Raquel Martinez joined the staff in 2006.
She serves as a Youth Minister for our High School Faith Formation
program, coordinates the Life Teen program, serves as the coordinator
for the Life Teen Notre Dame Leadership Conference, and organizes
many events for the parish teens. Raquel holds a Bachelor of Arts
degree with a double major in English and Psychology from Southwest
Texas State University. She also holds a Certificate of Graduate
Theological Studies from St. Mary’s University. In addition
to her role as Youth Minister, Raquel coordinates the teen musicians

Michelle Pechacek joined the staff in 1999. She serves as a Coordinator/Youth Minister for our Middle School Faith Formation Program: The EDGE. As an EDGE coordinator, she assists with the planning of weekly EDGE nights, retreats, and summer activities as well as other parish events for middle school youth. Michelle is married to Damien Pechacek and together they have six children which she home-schools. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A & M University, class of 1994, and has achieved Level II Catechist Certification. She is actively working on her Level III Certification.

Julia Cortez serves as the Coordinator of Children’s Ministries. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and English and a Texas Secondary Teaching Certificate. from the University of North Texas. Julia is responsible for the planning and oversight of the Elementary, Family and Good Shepherd Faith Formation programs. In addition, Julia coordinates and facilitates the Sacramental Preparation programs for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Julia is also the coordinator of the Safe Environment Education programs. Julia also serves as the Choir Director for the Children’s Choir and the 11:00 Mass. Laura Contreras joined
the parish staff in August, 2008 as the Assistant Coordinator
of Children’s Ministries.
Laura coordinates with Julia and Dorothy regarding Little
Flock, Catechesis
of the Good Shepherd, and
Elementary Faith Formation. In addition Laura also coordinates
childcare.

Dorothy
Scheidt has been with the St. Peter the Apostle community since
1968. She has served as a parish staff member since 1985. Dorothy
works with the Elementary Faith Formation
program by providing planning and administrative support and also
works with the Sacramental Preparation Classes. In addition, Dorothy
provides office administrative support by managing parishioner donations
and maintains the Sacramental Records for the parish.

| Kent Lewis joined the parish staff in the Spring of 2009 as the Facilities
Maintenance Manager. At the parish, Kent maintains the
buildings and grounds, monitoring equipment, and assists the Coordinators
by setting up for parish events.
