Shepherds of Christ
Shepherds of Christ is an international movement, with much support, many publications, books and prayer material with the imprimatur and an internet site.
Our two fold focus is prayer for priests and renewal of the Church and the world. Also for promoting devotion and consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We are connected to Our Lady of Fatima’s mission of peace in the world.
The chapter here at St. Peter’s welcomes and invites all persons to pray with the group without any concern of dues or an other requirements or registration. We gather twice a month for group prayer, usually in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel or other Church area. Other times we pray in member homes to create a social closeness among the participants.
Prayer times are: The 13th of every month, and the 4th Tuesday of every month for healing. Time is set for 5:20 PM on both days. If changes are necessary, members and interested parties are notified by email or phone. Our prayer meetings usually last about an hour. Generally the Church Bulletin will have our dates and times in the events section. All are welcome.
Our mission is to provide opportunities for parishioners and others to gather for the purpose of personal spiritual growth and prayer.
The Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus is another aspect of Shepherds of Christ in which members pray at least twice a week before the Blessed Sacrament for an hour, using the Shepherds of Christ Prayer Manuel and Holy Spirit Novena prayers and the Rosary. This is an optional devotion.
There are other sub ministries that might be of interest to persons who wish to do private devotion and prayer or nursing home visitation.
